2013 CHAMBERS LANDING NEWSLETTER

Solar Lights Installed on the Entrance Sign

DOCK REPAIR, INSURANCE, INSPECTION AND PERMIT

November 5, 2013: Our Dock Permit is issued annually through TARRANT REGIONAL WATER DISTRCT. The cost of the permit is determined by the square footage of our dock, plus a flat annual fee. Following the required repairs completed earlier this year, which included replacing warped lumber and repairing/replacing the electrical system, CLHOA was able to acquire liability insurance for the protection of all property owners. An inspection of the dock by TRWD passed and we were issued our Dock Permit, which is valid through October,2014.

THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER

November 1, 2013: The cows that normally reside just across the cove from Chambers Landing are seeking "greener pastures" in our community. At first glance, it was a rather pleasing sight seeing the cows grazing freely around the neighborhood. But upon closer inspection, we realized that the damage they were doing, far outweighed the pleasant view. Not only were the cows leaving piles of their "calling cards" , but were seriously damaging lawns and sprinkler systems. Bob McWhorter researched the cow's "brand" through the local sale barn and was able to contact the owner. Bob will continue to monitor the situation to alleviate further damage.

ENTRANCE SIGN REPAIR

August 3, 2013: Pieces of the cultured marble column caps originally installed on the Chambers Landing entrance sign were broken and missing. Once again, Bob McWhorter utilized his talents to correct this unsightly situation. Bob removed the old caps, cleaned up the tops and constructed stone caps to match the tall gate columns. He plans to permanently install a light base in each cap to accommodate solar lighting fixtures. We can always count on Bob!

TRWD COMPLIANCE

June 27,2013: In compliance with the Tarrant Regional Water District, Bob and Lanny continue serving our community, not only as Committee/Board Members, but also by completing the required repairs necessary to obtain the our dock permit. This team removed, rebuilt and installed the new power pole, allowing Oncor to set the electric meter. All of the electrical wiring has been checked and new lighting has been installed. Thanks again Bob and Lanny, for all your time and hard work!

DOCK WORKERS
June 17, 2013: Members Lanny Gilliam and Bob McWhorter were down at the boat dock this morning before the sun came up. No, they weren't going fishing. They were on a mission to remove and replace all of the old warped lumber on the boat dock. Thank you Bob and Lanny, for donating your time, energy and expertise to help insure the safety and comfort of all our Members and guests. Great job guys!

LOT PHOTOS AVAILABLE

June 8, 2013: Many of our lot owners live outside the immediate area and are not able to frequent their property. For this reason we are offering a FREE service to HOA members that wish to have their lots photographed. Upon request we will take several shots of your property and provide them to you in a private email. This service is available at no cost but is limited to two requests annually. Photos will not be made public and will be shared with the property owner of record only. To schedule your photo shoot now, click here...

ASPHALT REPAIR

May 15, 2013: If you haven't driven into CHAMBERS LANDING lately, you're in for a pleasant surprise!  The crumbling asphalt and resulting potholes on Paradise Drive and Crestview Drive have been filled.  Thanks to Paula and Lanny Gilliam, we no longer have to zig-zag from one side of our roadway to the other trying to miss the craters that have continued to expand. Paula and Lanny contracted with a professional asphalt paver to have all the major holes filled. WOW...What an improvement!  Thanks neighbors!

CLEAN UP

May 15, 2013: Remember all the trash, old tires and drift wood that had washed up under our dock? It's all gone! Jane and Bob Abel spent an entire weekend removing and burning all the debris that had collected under our dock for years. You can find Jane and Bob working on a variety of projects at the Lake most weekends, but you have to move fast because these two don't stand still long! Thanks neighbors!
